MISSION [ A WASTE TO LIVE ] + PLOTTING POST

Nearly two hundred years ago, Rehil Hahn very nearly destroyed the civilisations of Go’ama. Now, the world is still in a state of post-apocalypse, its mightiest cities reduced to rubble, with the surviving people separated into three clans, each fighting for survival. Magic - here called “the spark” - is strictly forbidden. Those who possess it are exiled to the Plains, a wasteland with no comforts, and plenty of dangers.
The objective of the mission is to find the two orbs that are on the planet: the one that was always there, and the one that transferred itself there after the mission in Amaryllis Grove. Viveca has tracked the orbs, and found that one of them is in the only city in Go’ama, called the Roof, while the other is somewhere on the Plains.
For this, the Orbers have been divided into two groups based on skill: one sent to the city for their diplomacy, one to the plains for their resilience. However, due to orb interference, the groups will be switched with one another when landing in Go’ama — this means that while the grouping below is the real grouping for the mission, the characters will believe themselves to be in the opposite group up until they land.
Teams are divided as follows:
Plains Group (that think they are getting sent to the city): Miles Edgeworth, Phoenix Wright, Ryunosuke Naruhodo, Yujin Mikotoba, Shuntaro Chishiya, Yuri Egin, The Doctor, Rita Farr, Ziggy Berman, Nikolai Lantsov, Shinn Asuka, Yzak Jule, Marta Cabrera, Daisy Johnson, Natasha Romanoff, Stephen Strange, Sabriel, Cy Salveo, Gene Hicks, Newton Geiszler, FitzChivalry Farseer, John Watson, Sherlock Holmes, Cal Kestis, Finn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Lúthien Tinúviel, Minimus Ambus, Lan Sizhui, Lan Xichen, Nie Huaisang, Ahsoka Tano
City Group (that think they are getting sent to the plains): Clarke Griffin, Finn Mertens, Jake the Dog, Ryohei Arisu, Takeshi Kovacs, Alucard, Jason Todd, Victor Stone, Alina Starkov, The Darkling, Mal Oretzev, Poison Ivy, Toru Hagakure, Bucky Barnes, Gamora, Peter Quill, Yelena Belova, Murderbot, Itachi Uchiha, Andromache, Sébastien le Livre, Yusuf al-Kaysani, Tony Tony Chopper, Yamato, Joric, Anakin Skywalker, Dean Winchester, The T-800, Vash the Stampede, Wei Wuxian, Prince Arctic, Yennefer of Vengerberg, Noah
The Roof is the only city of Go’ama, and only used to full capacity for only four months of the year, when the three clans all gather there to spend the winter months, sheltering from the cold winds and sandstorms. The Roof is built on top of ruins, among fallen statues and broken cobbled streets; the houses are made of stone, strong to endure, and the most important part of each district the city consists of is the well of that district, for water in Go’ama is scarce. For the time that the three clans are “Sharing the Roof”, as it is known, fighting between clans is forbidden.
The Plains, the dark wasteland, stretches from the edge of the Roof to the other end of Go’ama, miles upon miles of nothing but rock, sand and stone. The Plains is a dangerous place, where food fights back and large predators hunt for prey, where sandstorms or thunder might be just as deadly as failing to find water. Despite this, it is not impossible to survive on the Plains — especially if you group together with others banished there. In the middle of the Plains, an obsidian tower stands as a lone landmark; however, there is no entrance into the tower, and no one truly knows its purpose.
Jial Bryn
The leader of the clan Vo’a Mahdin (the Daughters of Twilight), a clan who live on the outskirts of the Plains, dedicated to hunting the predators and keeping them from spreading to other parts of the land. The Daughters are fierce and loyal to their way of life, and act as enforcers of the rule that the spark must not be used — they are responsible for catching those using it and bringing them to the Roof to be exiled to the Plains. Jial is a direct descendant of the clan’s first chief, her line having won each challenge for leadership.
Lei Bajh
The leader of Sen Reuma (the Stone Circle), the clan who lives under The Roof throughout the year, maintaining the city and ensuring it does not fall to the elements the other eight months of the year. The Stone Circle is also responsible for exiling those using the spark to the Plains, and Lei Bajh is highly regarded not only in the eyes of her own clan members, but also those from the two other clans.
Sorima Laivar
The leader of Gal Masen Dai (the Bright Dawn Soldiers), the clan who inhabit the only forestland of Go’ama, where the limestone that restricts the use of the spark is also mined. Sorima is known as a fair leader, with much experience, having led his clan twice as long as the two other clan chiefs.
Garam
On the Plains, there are some groups formed by those who have managed to survive — the most prominent of the groups is Dai’a Svar, the Soldiers of the Spark, who have gathered together, bound by their belief that magic should be allowed to be used freely. Their leader, Garam, inspires confidence in those who follow him, while his name is used as something to frighten children under the Roof.
This mission will span the months of January and February.
TThe team’s main objective is to find the orbs and retrieve them. To do that, they will have to learn where exactly the two orbs are, and who might be in possession of them.
As always, characters are encouraged to share their findings and information through the network, and a mod-provided voting/plotting post will be posted later on in the month to prepare for the second log.
The personal goals have been assigned, and can be found here. If you have any questions about your goal, please ask us here! In the same comment, there are instructions for what to do if you are unhappy with the task your character has received.
Please use this post to plot for the mission and make your own plotting comments. You can use the form below as a guideline:
MISSION QUESTIONS.

From the back of the mission briefing room: "Ooooh, Miss Viveca, don't forget me!"But also question: would Hagakure be assumed to be using magic at all times by the populace, therefore needing to be on the downlow and completely avoid detection? Or would she be forced by Ximilia magic to be visible? Just getting the specifics before I plot. 👀
no subject
This we leave to you! If you'd like, she could have received a potion from Degar to be visible throughout the mission. Otherwise, you may keep her invisible as usual.
no subject
As for if she's noticed as she is, is it safe to assume the locals would chase and attempt to capture said invisible girl for exile? If this is covered in the log, feel free to disregard.

Will the split up teams be able to see each other in person at some point? Daisy's goal is to "write three sentimental letters to significant people in your life and deliver them" which, two of them are going to be in the city.

PERSONAL GOALS.
You can also request a new goal by responding to this comment thread, but it should be noted that if you do, you’ll have to stick with the new goal you are given — so choosing to ask for a new one is taking a gamble, in a way.
All requests to change your personal goal have to be sent in before January 6, 6PM GMT.
Please also note that the changing of the goal happens OOCly — ICly, your character receives only one task and cannot change it.
Tossino
Phoenix Wright // Ace Attorney
Personal task: Phoenix's goal is to give a teammate a black eye, so he'll probably just go on the network and ask if anyone on the Plains would like to volunteer, pff. Who wants to get punched?
Group: The Plains! He's definitely going to be very concerned about the switch, and might try to organise an effort to figure out what type of survival skills their group has, no matter how small.
General plans for the mission: That obelisk is definitely suspicious and a potential lead for an orb. Also, he thinks it's an idea to try to make contact with the Soldiers of the Spark, both to find the orb but also to increase their chances of survival.
ETC: -
Re: Phoenix Wright // Ace Attorney
... If Nick asks publicly, that shouldn't be meddling in someone's business... right...?
no subject
Not that I'm opposed to it happening accidentally.
no subject
So if Phoenix doesn't get any other takers, I got Sherry here who will benefit from getting punched lol

John Watson // BBC's Sherlock
Personal task: 'Learn a local custom and perform it for two teammates'. idk this one sounds fun but not sure what to do with it. Would anyone like to play? :|a
Group: Also plains! He's going to be pretty okay with the mix-up, honestly. He's perfectly comfortable with social situations and all, but he's more content in stressful situations. This is perfectly healthy, don't ask about it.
General plans for the mission: Playing doctor! His army doctor days have definitely prepared him for this. He'll probably let the others deal with most of the sleuthing, if only because he's not confident in his own sleuthing abilities. Better keep the smarter people alive!
ETC: -
jessi »» jason todd
Character: jason todd
Personal task: Loudly express an emotion and cause a scene which won't be hard for him but if someone wants to witness jason making a scene, i'm down for finagling how we could make that happen.
Group: the city! which absolutely is not his preference, thank you, he'd much rather be out in the middle of nowhere.
General plans for the mission: depending on how the mission log goes, jason may go the route of playing detective under the roof: checking in on clan leaders, finding locals, and questioning them to see what he can find out about where the orb may be located. given the fun group-switching, he's less inclined to sit back and watch who's solving what. diplomacy isn't his thing, but it wouldn't be the first time he's been put in a role like this either, so.

Aleks is pretty diplomatic when he wants to be, but something-something snooping?? If it helps, several characters have called him 'batman' to his face because scary shadow powers and also, brooding.
no subject
They should go snooping together, so Jason can sass him.

SASS!
joric
Character: Joric
Personal task: Tell a teammate your worst quality. Yeah, sure; he could do that. I just need to figure out what he thinks that is. It could go a couple different ways.
Group: City group. He would assume it's better to keep his mouth shut because anything he says will be wrong but that's no fun for me so I'll have him deal and be "diplomatic."
General plans for the mission: Question the locals about sus orb things and keep an ear to the ground to see if anyone is discussing strange things afoot at the post-apocalyptic Circle K.
ETC: Hopefully he gets to flex his muscles and do some strong man things before the game ends. Most missions haven't played to his strengths.
Avie | Sherlock Holmes
Character: Sherlock Holmes
Personal task: Do not meddle in other people's business for one month
Group: Plains, Sherry's going to have a rough time, but honestly, what else is new at this point?
General plans for the mission: Caffeine withdrawals, passing out exhausted/waking up from nightmares regularly, shaken belief in his ability to help out, no mistletoe magic to bolster mood... lump of a detective lacking a chair to flop upside down in
ETC: He could be helpful with tracking and stuff, but someone might need to pspspsps the sad cat
no subject
Character: yusuf al-kaysani
Personal task: Do not give advice for one week | tragic but easy as he will just "put a pin in it for a week" and come back to it
Group: City Group (that think they are getting sent to the plains); he will be peeved but generally won't care aside from worrying about the people sent to the plains and about the people in his group with magic that are unable to use it, he'll try not to die this time, guys, also peeved because he is stuck with his shitty brother
General plans for the mission: checking on his missing besties, avoiding his brother and not being subtle about it, he's interested in the limestone that stops magic because he's immortal and curious so he would probably want to scope that out, mayhaps get sent out into the plains just to see how all that plays out
ETC: i am incredibly sick so if none of this makes sense blame that
Lina | Finn
Character: Finn
Personal task: Confess to a teammate your worst quality. - Well that won't be difficult.
Group: Heading to the Plains. He'll adjust quite well. Finn's no slouch and knows how to survive. He'll mostly just be worried about everyone else.
General plans for the mission: We'll see what the mission log has in store, but he'll likely be helping to defend the group, scouting/playing lookout, and scouring for food.
ETC: i'm just here to have a good time, man

Ireth | The Darkling
Character: The Darkling / Aleksander Morozova
Personal task: Allow a teammate to dress you for a week.
You know what? He's had way worse than this, and will willingly wear whatever. He was dressed like a bright cheeto for a mission once, nothing can beat that.
Group: City Group (thinking he would end up on the plains). He will struggle not using his Small Science, and will hate it very much, thanks. Might still use Darkness just to stay healthy and because he's an ass.
General plans for the mission: FIND THE ORB!! No, really, he wants this and I am looking to the clan leaders - something with them? OPen to any and all cr

Yelena! Yes, let her dress him in something that isn't just blank on black!
michele | anakin skywalker
Character: anakin skywalker
Personal task: his task is essentially to be himself (get angry and react violently) the only question is how many times he'll complete it
Group: going to the city thinking it's the plains. probably happier that he's not out in the open with all that sand getting everywhere
General plans for the mission: he is going to hate every second of this place. he's going to want to look into the limestone that restricts powers but he's not the most diplomatic so someone to hold him back would be appreciated
ETC: PLEASE I WANT TO DO THE I HATE SAND SPEECH SOMEONE HELP ME MAKE THIS HAPPEN
no subject
Character: Shinn Asuka
Personal task: "Confess to a teammate an unachieved dream." -- he's fine, he'll tell any random person "I want to end war forever."
Group: Plains team plains team! Although Shinn knows how to do basic survival stuff from academy training, he's a sci-fi suburban boy who has never done long-term outdoors survival. If he stops and thinks about it, this is honestly still for the best given his history of screaming at foreign heads of state.
General plans for the mission: Shinn will be inclined to immediately team up with the rebels and flip off those city people with their dumb prejudices. Unless someone talks him out of it, he'll immediately sign up with the Dai’a Svar and assume that the entire rest of the crew wants to as well. He’s much more similar to Cagalli than he would ever admit....
ETC: The last time Shinn was in the desert he had to do a Top Gun 2 trench run but got a victory piggyback ride as a reward.
