A MATTER OF IMPORT: voting post for the conclusion

VOTING POST

The time has come to put some matters of import to a vote before it is time for this mission to conclude! Before that, though, here is a quick recap of new information that the NPC threads in this month's log have uncovered:

Zandr's current deal with the orb is preventing everyone affected by ghost matter from dying, and taking the orb away will mean all these people will no longer be protected and will eventually die.

The anti-matter will only destroy ghost matter in the atmosphere, not in people's bodies.

After speaking to Ivy, Zandr is aware of the crew's voting process and will ask them to vote about staying for a while in order for the team's healers to try and see if they can help those affected by ghost matter.

Meanwhile, Yujin has successfully obtained the codes to the harvester on Deumia through his contact with Emerton.

· THE VOTE

For the conclusion, we ask you to place your votes ICly underneath the following categories:

(1) The anti-matter and its potential success
(2) The Nuhiri rescue effort
(3) The Deumia infiltration and harvester take-over
(4) The aftermath: to stay and try to save the ghost-matter afflicted or not
(5) Anything else

In this particular case, you are free to place your vote underneath any relevant categories — for example, if your character has been working on anti-matter and wants to stay and help the afflicted, you can then place a vote underneath the two categories. Or if your character is part of the rescue effort, then goes on to Deumia, and has an opinion of the aftermath, you can place a vote underneath all three categories. And so on.

We ask that you place your votes by May 27, 6PM GMT.

Vash pickpocketed a key for a fighter jet from a Federation pilot at the gala and used it to tamper with the locks on several jets until he found the one it matched. After this point, he stole the jet to generally become a nuisance to the pilots trying to stop Orbers from getting into Nuhiri, using the jet's shielding capabilities to protect himself and other Orbers from damage without harming the pilots. His strategy was largely buying time by getting in the way of Federation ships and goading them to chase him instead of other ships.

Ultimately, he did land on Nuhiri and helped rescue Newton Geiszler from the lab.

Straight after the gala speech, Aleksander follows Yelena to a spaceship and together they join up with the ships to fight off the Federation ships.

Since he can't pilot anything but a horse, Aleksander uses his Cut (once) while in the middle of everything, shaping it from the shadows of space. He tries to slice as many Federation ships in two as he possibly can - making sure that at least Alina isn't in the line of fire and partly trusting Yelena to point the ship in the right direction.

Yelena was here piloting and doing what needed to be done. And, yes, she’d have made sure allied ships were out of the line of fire.

cal & chishiya stole a transporter ship after the gala. they will definitely be taking that over to nuhiri to help get as many as they can out. cal hasn't used his powers yet and if needed, he'll try to use them once for the sake of holding enemies at bay or keeping people as safe as possible.

Chishiya is not really a combatant (though he can shoot a gun if necessary), so he was mostly there to help with grand theft and provide medical support during the rescue effort.

Felix was guarding the lab when it was attacked and helped the scientists get out fast. Once it was clear, he hopped into his spaceship and headed out to engage the enemy. He was involved heavily with defending Orbers getting to safety and engaging the Federation in retaliation for their attack. As an experienced pilot and combatant he felt no qualms getting into multiple dogfights in the air and space around Nuhiri, and took pleasure in each confirmed kill he gained.

Once it was clear they'd gotten everyone out of danger and needed to get to the next stage of their mission, he would head for Deumia to help out there.

Being a Federation employee, Jim managed to get his hands on a medical emergency ship. Together with Bones, he tried to talk his way past the other Federation ships, but falling that he fought his way through so they could get down to Nuhiri and help the team there, both with rescue, medical assistance and evacuation.

Yzak went straight from the gala to a fighter jet - probably got into some FISTICUFFS with a couple of randos on the way who were like "hey where are you going at a time like this HEY" bitch get out of his WAY.

High-tailed it toward his allies and his commandery team leadery ass probably kicked in here since he was in his ELEMENT - you know, formations, quick call outs to X and X to go that way together and cover other X person. Basically he was probably a great help here where getting to Nuhiri for the rescues was concerned in ensuring the Orbers were all covered and good and nobody got too overwhelmed or dogpiled in the chaos. He stayed more for defense and ensuring the actual rescue/evacuation had a route back out.
