THE DIE IS CAST: voting post
● ● ● THE DIE IS CAST: IC VOTING POST
Hello orbers!
The time has come to vote for how the team is going to get the orb from Jun Shortaxe. Note that this is an IC vote — so whatever you vote for has to be what your character would ICly want to do.
Before we get into the vote, here is a refresher on the information previously shared. The following is information that has been shared since then:
• The orb-wielder was Jun Shortaxe all along.
• The orb's previous deal with the king ended when it was taken from the palace.
• The spell that hit Felix is the same spell that hit Jun all those years ago. It's a unique spell created by Ellia so she was blamed for it, but she insists her innocence.
• The monsters in the Silver Caverns were because of Jun's deal with the orb.
• The orb has transformed Jun into a red dragon and merged into his body as one of his scales.
The team needs to vote on the two things, and each character gets one vote to either suggest a solution or +1 one suggestion of their choice.
For the vote, this is what your character has to choose:
1 How to get the orb from Jun
2 What to do about Jun
Keep in mind that Jun currently has an ongoing deal with the orb. The crew will have to break this deal in order to use the orb to bring them back to the station.
Please write your suggestions as comments under the right heading, or +1 other characters' suggestions by responding to their comment. The more detail you can offer, the better.
If your character would ICly add something to their suggestion (offer magic, stealth for the tower, protection over someone or something, etc.) please detail this in your comment as well as it will help colour the conclusion.
The vote is open until February 13, 6PM GMT, after which the mods will count the votes and write the conclusion based on your characters' actions. You only have one vote per question, but if you end up wanting to vote for something else or edit your vote, you can do so until the voting closes.
Note that the vote doesn’t mean that only one option will be chosen — depending on how it goes, the conclusion may feature elements from the highest-voted options. The mods may also ask follow-up questions for some courses of action.
And finally, the conclusion will go up on February 15, when characters will return to the station.
Happy voting!
(frozen comment) +1 for Bad Ideas
In particular though if the battle begins to take turns for the worst, Felix will be the voice in people's heads reminding them that Shortaxe has no reason to take it easy on their group and he's a threat to them all. The guy will live anyone to die for his own cause as he's done it before. Felix will be extra vocal to those that he thinks are more capable of doing what needs to be done (Kovacs, Dean, maybe Natasha because she seems practical to him) or those that he thinks are more easily manipulated (like Finn, Steve, Sabriel) into protecting teammates by force. His biggest line of reasoning used to convince people will be the reminder: "A guy like this already went down the dark path once, which means he's fully capable of doing it again some day. If you let him off the hook, he'll just cause more problems, hurt more people later. Nobody wants that for the people here." In order to facilitate his wishes, he'll be supportive of whatever the other person deems necessary but he'll sweet-talk his little reminder to worm its own way into their head before leaving them to finish the fight on their own.
Note: he won't really say anything during the middle of the fight if it ends up going much more smoothly than he expects it to.
