THE DIE IS CAST: voting post
● ● ● THE DIE IS CAST: IC VOTING POST
Hello orbers!
The time has come to vote for how the team is going to get the orb from Jun Shortaxe. Note that this is an IC vote — so whatever you vote for has to be what your character would ICly want to do.
Before we get into the vote, here is a refresher on the information previously shared. The following is information that has been shared since then:
• The orb-wielder was Jun Shortaxe all along.
• The orb's previous deal with the king ended when it was taken from the palace.
• The spell that hit Felix is the same spell that hit Jun all those years ago. It's a unique spell created by Ellia so she was blamed for it, but she insists her innocence.
• The monsters in the Silver Caverns were because of Jun's deal with the orb.
• The orb has transformed Jun into a red dragon and merged into his body as one of his scales.
The team needs to vote on the two things, and each character gets one vote to either suggest a solution or +1 one suggestion of their choice.
For the vote, this is what your character has to choose:
1 How to get the orb from Jun
2 What to do about Jun
Keep in mind that Jun currently has an ongoing deal with the orb. The crew will have to break this deal in order to use the orb to bring them back to the station.
Please write your suggestions as comments under the right heading, or +1 other characters' suggestions by responding to their comment. The more detail you can offer, the better.
If your character would ICly add something to their suggestion (offer magic, stealth for the tower, protection over someone or something, etc.) please detail this in your comment as well as it will help colour the conclusion.
The vote is open until February 13, 6PM GMT, after which the mods will count the votes and write the conclusion based on your characters' actions. You only have one vote per question, but if you end up wanting to vote for something else or edit your vote, you can do so until the voting closes.
Note that the vote doesn’t mean that only one option will be chosen — depending on how it goes, the conclusion may feature elements from the highest-voted options. The mods may also ask follow-up questions for some courses of action.
And finally, the conclusion will go up on February 15, when characters will return to the station.
Happy voting!

QUESTIONS.

is it possible to get itachi injured in the fight against dragon-jun? he will be stepping in to save finn and either take a blow or, idk, get smacked into a wall by an angry dragon tail. he's usually so dummy OP I crave the good h/c nonsense. gwen will be there to support!
all players are on board with this but we may or may not directly thread it out due to: time constraints and fight scenes being Whack.
I wanna make sure he's still ambulatory enough to
yell at ppl abt tortureparticipate during phase 2 of the voting but yeah he'll be down and out for most of round 1.no subject

(frozen comment) 1) How to get the orb from Jun

Others can then comment around and +1 the suggestions their character would agree with.

If it doesn't work, if Jun is still asleep they can just try physically removing the orb-scale.

'SPELL 01 — DIVINE FAVOR: A prayer said unto your weapon to bestow you with just a little extra holy strength. The effect wears off after five minutes.'
she's more than down to jump off the fortress walls and try to get on the dragon(frozen comment) +1 Paladin
He’s real conflicted and reluctant to just go for the KILL with Jun and if at all possible he will be hoping they can simply remove the orb-scale and try to give Jun one more chance to be the hero from his promise to Degar/Dweyre. Finn may risk using his Heroism spell on Jun-dragon if he can get close enough to do so.
However if the Jun-dragon situation goes south, he has fought and killed (very different) dragons in his world and would look to keep as many people unhurt as possible. He’ll be happy to provide sword support to get their bards and tielfings as close at they need to be. From there, either popping off the scale (ideal) or simply stabbing him through it with Jun’s own sword (oof).

I feel like she saw the whole dragon thing and her first thought was that that fire immunity thing just suddenly got a lot more relevant.
(frozen comment) +1 Distraction
He also has Heroism for the people doing the distraction if they need the extra courageous boost.
(frozen comment) +1 Paladin
- Lightning type Dragonborn means he can tank for people and WILL put himself out there.
- Use Minor Illusion to throw Jundragon off wherever he can. Can and will use illusions of like, faces/voices of orbers, faces of people Jun knows. Would a Degar illusion throw him off lmao he'll fuckin dO IT.
- If the dragon transformation/sleep spell does NOT get reversed/work for whatever reason, he is also down to cast Divine Favor on himself and since Paladins have mastery of all weapons he can just try to. Yeet himself to attempt to cut the orb-scale away from him. Would obvs need some support/backup if it came to this. c:

he is also fireproof so he will do the spell right in this guy's face, twat
(frozen comment) +1 Bard
He's not afraid to get up close and personal with the dragon in order to cast either of these spells either so he'll whip up there with his sword drawn and Booming Blade cast, Lightning Breath, and martial arts at the ready to weaken the dragon as they prepare to cast and do what's needed to take this guy down.
If they can't undo the dragon shape, he'll gladly help pry the blue scale/orb off the beast while they bum rush it. Or attack more aggressively of all else fails having no qualms in hurting permanently or killing Shortaxe for all his trouble. If it comes down to it.

He's also verbally for bringing in Ellia as a powerful ally and bargaining chip since he feels her need for revenge could very well be an asset. (He knows how she feels, okay, it's the one piece of empathy he might actually be capable of possessing at this point.)

(frozen comment) makes taunting noises at the dragon
maybe this will be enough to get through to Jun and cause him to reconsider his choices. or, you know, it could just piss the dragon off, that’s also more likely.

(frozen comment) 2) What to do about Jun

Since he's experienced in battle and dangerous scenarios, he'll be capable of getting in close enough to achieve that 15 feet distance. The strength or success of the spell is all based on chance and possibly the aid of anyone else who has assisting spell magic. Though the chance that spell can influence the mind is unlikely, with the help of Newt to bring around Jun's squad, they'll make an attempt at coaxing him to relinquish his deal peacefully.

She figures Jun having an actual history with Nina would make it even more effective, since presumably Jun cares what she thinks.

In particular though if the battle begins to take turns for the worst, Felix will be the voice in people's heads reminding them that Shortaxe has no reason to take it easy on their group and he's a threat to them all. The guy will live anyone to die for his own cause as he's done it before. Felix will be extra vocal to those that he thinks are more capable of doing what needs to be done (Kovacs, Dean, maybe Natasha because she seems practical to him) or those that he thinks are more easily manipulated (like Finn, Steve, Sabriel) into protecting teammates by force. His biggest line of reasoning used to convince people will be the reminder: "A guy like this already went down the dark path once, which means he's fully capable of doing it again some day. If you let him off the hook, he'll just cause more problems, hurt more people later. Nobody wants that for the people here." In order to facilitate his wishes, he'll be supportive of whatever the other person deems necessary but he'll sweet-talk his little reminder to worm its own way into their head before leaving them to finish the fight on their own.
Note: he won't really say anything during the middle of the fight if it ends up going much more smoothly than he expects it to.
