[ BRASS DEVIL ] orb finale npc thread suggestions

Hello fellow orbers!

As you may know, Kovacs and Peter are desperately trying to complete an orb snatch. It could be… going… a bit better. And that is where YOU come in!

The way we see it, we have two clear needs:
1. We need backup for Kovacs and help to neutralize Cheri. Those who are in HQ already would likely be able to reach the top floor the fastest. If you can use the comments below to help us brainstorm, please list what your character can do to help and we will use the thread for discussion to build a plan to provide in Kovacs’ next response.

2. Peter can handle Olexa for awhile, hopefully, however any backup that is mobile enough to get to the side of the tower would be very welcome! This is a more difficult engagement to get to and keeping the entire building from capsizing is likely the most important. It is possible that Olexa might not be a threat after Cheri is stopped, though it is hard to say that with certainty. Again, if your character can make it to the side of the tower, please use the comments below to help facilitate discussion to provide in Peter’s next response.
Due to the events being accidentally broadcast by Peter, an IC net post is available for characters to reach out to and communicate with both characters or with each other.

The completion of the log needs to be done by October 16th, so we’ll need to get character and action suggestions in within the next few days. Group discussions OOCly will have until the end of October 9th at 11:59PM EST.

After that, we’ll be incorporating selected ideas brought up in both the IC net post and this OOC discussion towards furthering the NPC log. If the NPC actions that follow require further input from your character due to whatever contributions they may provide, we'll reply to your comments OOCly to inquire. As we are on a deadline, please make suggestions only if you believe you can be timely enough in communicating OOCly.

Thanks for the assist!

The Darkling is near the top floor.

His powers are directly opposite Alina's - he can call on all the darkness, flood the room with it and try to smother Cheri? He can also condense shadows enough to make a Cut. It slices through most things.

For protection, he can create walls of darkness between Cheri and Kovacs. They can't hold for long, but it might be long enough to bring someone in to heal him? Get him away?

If the Darkling touches Alina, he would be able to use her Light and fry people in the vicinity

Anything to keep that ass on the station, right?

Still working things out with Alina, but using her as a weapon would be a lot more helpful than just shielding Kovacs from the scary lady. If not, then the Cut can cut through A LOT of shit and he can also try to strangle Cheri with the shadows. Kind of like a darkness-waterboarding.

Half the time I read 'darkling' as 'darling' and it is so lovely.

This is the Cut.

It's not really about arms and legs, it's more- most of the room?

Kirigan. He keeps telling people that that is his name. It's really not, but that's between him and Vivica. And Alina. To everyone else, he introduces himself as just Kirigan.

... he's not really that worried about most of the team. But Alina has agreed to team up, which means the Darkling is less likely to just murder everyone to get the orb. The Darkling is a human amplifier, and when he touches Alina's skin (in this case, they will be holding hands) he can turn her nightlight in to a blowtorch as he's the one controlling her Light.

Imagine a huge, concentrated ball of light hurtling straight for Cheri's face, so hot it could set the room on fire if it wasn't for the fact that the Darkling is pulling up his shadows to funnel the light more firmly on to Cheri (and incidentally, cover everyone else in the room with cool darkness- still, don't look at the sunlight. Bad idea).
