ENDGAME: VOTING POST
● ● ● ENDGAME: VOTING POST
As the game approaches its final stretch, it is time for the team to think about what they will do once — if — they reunite all the orbs. This is what is known to the characters regarding the reunification:
• The orbs have been reunified once before, by Degar, and they granted his wish to undo the deaths of the previous crew.
• Due to insufficient warding around the orbs, they scattered immediately after Degar made his wish.
• Viveca and Degar have been working hard for the duration of this crew’s tenure to fortify the barrier around the orbs, and some of the current crew have helped in its defenses before.
• Nobody knows what will happen once the regrets are undone, but as long as the orbs (or, as they will be, the Orb) remain on the station, they will need to be held inside a barrier as not to scatter again.

· THE VOTE
For endgame, the team can decide on two things, and each character gets one vote to either suggest a solution or +1 one suggestion of their choice. Note that when +1 a suggestion, players are encouraged to expand on that if they so choose.1 Will they go ahead with undoing their regrets, or not??
2 In either case, what will they do about the orbs?
Additionally, if you think anything else needs to be addressed, do so here.
Voting will end on JANUARY 2, though there will be yet one more possibility to change a vote after the end of the final mission. The votes placed here will count towards the final endgame log, where the team’s decision regarding what to do will come to fruition.
· THE QUILT
Thank you to those who participated in Degar's quilt-making endeavor. We are thrilled to show you all the final product (with main fabric color choices courtesy of Degar, Viveca, and Nannybot). Please note that — save for the blocks created by the Orbers — the quilt itself is shoddy at best. Oh well! A for effort, right?
Can you guess which block belongs to whom? You can see the fully expanded piece here, along with the full-size versions of each Orber's block and name.
See you in the new year, Orbers!

VOTING: THE REGRETS
Others can then comment around and +1 the suggestion their character would agree with, and provide additional details if needed.
Voting ends January 2, 6PM GMT.
Note that there will be an opportunity to change your vote after the end of the final mission, but the timeframe for that will be shorter.
Team Sticking Around (If Allowed)
(Otherwise, just send him back to be a puddle of liquid steel, per his request, lmfao.)

She has noticed that a lot of orbs seem to have ended up on planets from the original crew, which also kind of makes her wonder if undoing their own regrets would make their worlds targets for future orb shenanigans. Considering Viv, Degar and Captain Idris Elba all ended up with orbs on their own worlds, it seems like a real consideration.
+1
But once Ziggy canon updates before endgame into an adult, she will decide to stay behind and use whatever abilities Wei Wuxian had helped her learn as a cultivator to help with the station/orbs and whatever else may happen in the future. She would also be okay with her regret never being undone, due to circumstances where she realizes that her regret wouldn't actually heal her town.
It's a hard choice, but like Bob and Natasha, she will find her story in Shadyside has ended and her story in Ximilia can continue, if a crew is needed to carry on and monitor everything out there in space.
+1
If possible, he'll remain on the Ximilia afterwards regardless.
+1
If he's allowed to stay, he wants to split Degar's duties with him and contribute his skills and abilities to containing the orbs.

Uh... hopefully, he still has a home to return to because if 1 to 1 time passes there like on the station... Cthulhu is awake and destroying the world by now.
Note to self: never pick this canon point again 8|;;Hopefully, he'll at least have his memories of this place too.He did do his personal goal, so take whatever power that gives.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have any personal goal juice to contribute to helping the people who really NEED to undo their regrets get that done, nor does he have any powers to contribute. He IS raring to do whatever he can to help, it just may be kind of limited in practicality.
(I do need to go back through and see if there are any that he may have completed by accident, and also like... Assess if there's any point at which ICly someone could have taken him aside to be like, "you know you can leverage goal power for someone else's benefit and not just your own, right"? Because then he would've started doing his goals, because he would've had a good reason to do so outside of self-interest.)
+1
As an aside, he's also not too happy about going back home and/or forgetting his time here, but he's accepted all that and thinks it's for the best, oof.

Also adding here so I'm not in 70 different places at once but he's team Keep The Memories. What's a little more multiverse madness to remember at this point, he can make the space if it means he gets to remember the people.

Going Home + Undoing Regret... plus memory discussion?
However, he'll also bring up (worriedly) that he doesn't want to forget the Ximilia, if that's still a concern/issue. He'll bring up if there's any way at all that those who wish to could remember their time aboard the Ximilia, especially since orbs have shown back up in Ximilia crews worlds (as Natasha pointed out). It'd be good for them to remember, he thinks.
Also, selfishly, he loves everyone and hates the idea of ever forgetting.

However, like Newt he would really like to return with memories of his time here. Even if everything else gets erased, he at least wants to hold onto memories of the people themselves. The missions and all the tech on the station can leave his brain as long as he remembers those he cares about.

I am not sure if the personal goal orb juice is more meant to go toward regret undoing or orb/barrier stuff. But it's all going in whichever direction. He's done all of his goals here like a good dutiful soldier.
UNLESS orb juice can apply to memory stuff? Since memory stuff has always been very "maybe it'll happen maybe it won't" and he doesn't want to chance a maybe. Because his opinion on that is "my memories are mine, fuck you" so if orb juice can go THERE he'd dump it all over himself.
+1
additionally he is also invested in keeping their memories because he's got a chancellor to assassinate now.
+1
After all of his sacrifices and all of the fights, he wants to go home to keep his people safe. To undo the Fold and work to find another way to keep the general population from murdering his people.
+1 - except memory.

If it is possible to keep their memories, she is all for that too.
+1
im working on filling it out shhhowever, she also would rather not... forget the people here. it's significant enough a factor that it could end up changing her mind, depending on how the next mission goes! if there were a way to hold onto their memories, in combination with not wanting the orbs to get loose again, she could be swayed on use of orb juice. since there's a trend of orbs landing on worlds of former orbers, she'd be worried about them ending up in her own too.

VOTING: THE ORBS
Others can then comment around and +1 the suggestion their character would agree with, and provide additional details if needed.
Voting ends January 2, 6PM GMT.

Improve the Tech?
The journals contain lots, but what might be more useful in the list: the curing of the orb-based disease on Gyeongje, the device he'd created to prevent immediate pulsefire death on Badrock, his experience with tech on Viveca's planet and the creation of devices that disarm explosive collars, the composition of the lava crab shells that could withstand volcano magma on the Darkest Wild mission, and his hyperfocused work involving dark matter in Mission 13.
Despite being sure of going home, Newt will also want to remain as long as he theoretically can to try and fortify the orbs and keep it on lockdown. Leaving without beefing up the security aboard the station is not in his plans at all.
EDIT 42394: ALSO OF INTEREST, MAYBE, FOR VIVECA AND DEGAR, is the inclusion of drift technology! All this time, Newton has had a drift machine hidden in his room, untouched and unused. If this can be implemented into the strengthening of the barrier, Newt would love to coordinate with Degar and Viveca on this. It's possible it can't be used it at all (aka up to your discretion, your modlinesses), but I wanted to put it on the table since it's never gotten any use. :Db
Strengthening the Barrier Magic
Yzak confirmed ICly (read: I asked the mods) that the Charter Magic that he has thanks to Sabriel can be completely removed from him (rather than siphoned like what has been done before). He's been working/training/honing the skill for the past 2+ years so his idea is that after the last mission (since he might need it for that!) he's going to have Degar remove the magic/the sum of all of the strength/ability/etc of it from him completely to put it To Use in the best way possible. Whether that means giving it to Degar directly or putting it into whatever magic/tech the barrier actually IS or hey if more of the team come up with some COOL UNIQUE IDEAS it can go to that.
He won't need the magic back home so why not put it to good use. (esp if it means not giving up his regret! no thank you!)
+1
+1 to magical barrier reinforcement
He'll also offer to remain on omniversal speed-dial for chipping in with orb containment maintenance again in future if the Ximilia is capable of plucking people up without an orb deal once the orbs are reunited. tl;dr, if people want to fix their regrets he'd like to contribute what he can to them being able to do so. It doesn't feel right to him for it to be decided for them at the last hurdle that they can't after everything everyone's been through.
If able to stay behind, help Degar maintain barrier

Further Help + Future Communication
But, the Orbers are by far not the only ones who know of the Ximilia, the Orb, and the mission they're on much less the importance of it since other worlds got to experience Orb Bullshit first hand. And there have been many NPCs in worlds who were told about the truth of everything. Yzak will simply put it out there that if further help does seem like it could be needed, be it now or in the future, there are options there to reach out to since some others are well aware of what the orbs can do. So maybe there are ways they can lend their aid, too - if they want to, of course. Whether it's coming to help or sending supplies/tech/magic that can be used/combined with other things.
And on the subject of reaching out to others + the above mentioned keeping memories discussion, Yzak would like to know how things are going on the Ximilia if it's possible after they all go home (if they don't bad end and everyone blows up,,). So he'll ask can u smarter people consider working on some sort of communication with the station or at least a way for him/other Orbers to check in and say hi over Zoom (Zoomilia) every once in a while. (i-it's not like he's gonna miss you guys and will worry or anything)
