GHOST GIRL: plotting post 2
● ● ● AUGUST PLOTTING POST: MISSION LOG 2
The vote is over and time has come to reveal the results, and to kick off plotting for the second part of this mission! The team voted to:
1 Offer So-Yeon the cure in exchange for the orb
2 Tell the people of Gyeongje the truth about the plague, and let them decide the fate of the Lord and Lady
3 Make a cure using anti-corruption magic and the orb’s powers
4 Bust out the infected teammates using as little violence as possible, and then split the team into two parties
· part i: the infirmary
The first part of the log will consist of getting the infected characters out of the infirmary. The prompts will center around what has been posted to the voting post so far: Jim, Bucky and Sam are organizing a breakout from the inside, with the idea to knock out the guards and break the locks. Outside, Richie is distracting the guards away from the door — which is fortunate, as Kirigan and Daisy will break the magical barrier that holds the team in, with enough force that anyone still left outside will be wounded. Once that is done, Sabriel can use her bells to put people to sleep, while Erik acts as a shield with his suit and Syrlya creates a portal that can help the infected get away from the palace and to Yuryeong. Of course, this is also where non-infected characters may join them on the way to Yuryeong. However, Clara leads an effort to convince the guards that she (and any others who want to stay) is on their side, to stay and monitor what happens in the palace.
Starting from the first part, the infected characters will also have reached the second stage in their transformations where it gets more serious: each character will start to change more and more, and this may result in the escape being more difficult than anticipated. The infected characters have all received a list of changes to choose from, so plot your transformations to your heart’s content! The changes will continue until a cure is made and administered.
· part ii: yuryeong and the city
This is where the team splits into two: some go to So-Yeon, while some stay in the city. There will be prompts for both parts, and things to do for both.
Those who go to Yuryeong will get a chance to explore the hideout, deal with their own team members changing, work on the cure and have a chance to talk to So-Yeon. Check the details about that here.
Those who stay in the palace will find that while their lies about supporting the rulers will hold with the Lady, it’s not so convincing to everyone… so there may be some troubles ahead for them! This part of the team will also be the ones to spread the truth among the people, and they will eventually get out of the palace to do just that. Those who stay will get two RNG’d threads to sign up for: one with a citizen of the merchant district to share the truth with, and one with Lord Suk-Ju, who may or may not be up to something. · part iii: return to the city
Once a cure is successfully made (and from the looks of things, it will be!), those in Yuryeong can return to the city, to show the citizens the truth of it all. However, their return won’t happen without opposition from the palace, so be prepared for a fight, and maybe get some assistance from those in the city!
This is where the log will end, and the conclusion of the mission (what the people decide, how the team gets the orb, and all that) will be revealed on August 14 in a separate post detailing not only the end of the mission, but also the return back to the station. That will not be a separate log, however, so for the latter half of the month when characters are on the station, players are encouraged to make their own logs. While only the submissions are written into the actual prompts, that doesn't mean there's no room for others to coordinate with the effort.

Changes for the Infected: General Plans:
Part I
Dusty is actually not in the infirmary. Since he's already pretty used to having a bite-transmitted transformative disease that makes the authorities want to lock you up/kill you, he got the hell out of dodge the minute he realized they were bringing the injured to the infirmary, by again pretending to be a dog. (It's one of his best skills, really.)
He probably won't be of any use at the infirmary break out because his lycanthropy mixed with the infection from the injury means he's going to be transforming through the stages of the disease faster than most. However, he pretty immediately texted Newt to offer whatever samples he might need. He'll either be hiding out with Newt and/or whoever else is working on the cure or holing up in an abandoned house in the Outer District. I'm totally open to threads around this situation though, if anyone needs a wolf with chunks of its fur falling out...
Part II
The physical grossness of the transformation will be startling and unnerving, but as soon as he realizes he's transforming faster than others and losing control of the wolf he may try to bolt out to the woods to avoid being a danger to others. Some of his exploration earlier in the month gave him a good idea of where Yuryeong probably is, and he would be heading for there. I'd love some angsty threads with the transforming stressing him out and/or someone convincing him to stay or helping him go (either is lovely). Also if anyone would like to shove him around with regards to the cure or anything else, that would be great.
On the way to Yuryeong, he'll be moving mostly in wolf form and sticking to the outskirts of the group both to scout and to protect anyone from being injured if he loses control of the wolf. He would also be willing to remain in human form and help or carry people struggling with the journey since he's a big boy - he won't be as strong as usual, I imagine, so probably not anyone too heavy.
Part III
Once he's cured, Dusty will be willing to help fight back into the city, though he's going to do his best not to injure anyone too badly. He'll be very protective of anyone he's with, though, and liable to fling himself into harm's way if it comes to it, because transforming from his wolf form to human heals him some and so he thinks he's invincible (he's not).
Other
At some point before the attack, Dusty was going to go hunting in the woods and catch some animals. Per the mods, the animals here are similar to Earth animals and are totally safe to eat. He'd go into it thinking of bringing it back to the station but upon realizing there's not really any easy way to preserve it until they get back, he'd be finding a way to cook it up and bring it to some of the homeless people. He would have done this more than once, after he saw the positive reaction, and he's very stubborn and ignores the guards telling him not to talk to them. If anyone would like to help with that, I'd be thrilled to backdate a thread! I might put it as a prompt on an open log either way.
ETA: Sorry for tagging slowly lately, my favorite video game released some new content and I was useless last week. Gonna get on track starting tonight. If anyone I'm threading with would prefer to handwave and move on to a new thing, please let me know!
