I'm not sure if I should put this here or under hacking -- but I'll place my bets and say it's better suited here! Newton will focus heavily on the disarming of the collars — Kakashi is providing him both an unused/disarmed collar as well as his wristband used at the labor camps. With this and his scrap/tech shop supplying a hardy amount of goods, he will be devoting his time in making multiple disarming tools for the collars!
If mods feel there are proper materials available for success, these tools in theory should work by scrambling the proper trigger/switches in the collars that cause the explosion in the first place. Always up for extra hands/minds if anyone's interested in this area. Or just, like. Bring Newton some caffeine patches for the all-nighters he'll be pulling.
He'll bring these devices with him to the camps (pending they're okayed), as he plans on focusing his actual aid there instead of the other stuff he's less helpful in.
(EDITED NOTE: if the collars can be disabled from a distance and all at once via hacking, Newton can also attempt that if it's a better solution; Clara is open to helping on her end in the hacking department. But if long-distance disabling isn't possible or has been tried/failed before, disregard this note!)
