UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS: plotting post 2 + voting + sign-ups

● ● ● APRIL PLOTTING POST: MISSION LOG 2

The time has come to reveal some of the upcoming plot developments regarding the second log. ICly, most of the events are influenced by the Search Requests. Before we get into planning, here is a quick recap of what has been discovered so far:

• Entr’i is originally from Taeum, and instigated a rebellion where she tried to assassinate the Highest One. The rebellion was crushed, and those who participated were executed, except Entr’i who escaped into Sedorum.

• Entr’i doesn’t want a war but He won't allow her to attempt an assassination.

• She is in possession of one orb, while the Highest One has one in Taeum.

• Angrial and Entr’i used to be close, and Angrial values honesty and justice.

• There is a person with the initial R in Taeum who works together with Entr’i. Some suspect they know the person’s identity.

• There are plenty of good people in Taeum, among those children.

• Entr’i has a dagger called the Soul-Cutter, and intends to use that against the Highest One.

• There is a creature called Long Cloak, who the locals believe will take souls to Purgatory, from where they will never reincarnate again.

• The war will take place in Giva.

· THE LOG

The events of the second log are heavily influenced and will follow the search requests.

In Sedorum, Entr’i calls the commanders (those in these search requests) in for a private rendezvous following their official meeting with V’rizz. During this time, she asks them to organize themselves into three groups:

The first group is the Taeum infiltration force. She tells the commanders willing to go to divide themselves into two: the first task force will go in to release those imprisoned (she seems to know about this without having been told of it), while the second task force will attempt to recover the other amulet from the Highest One. She’ll provide them with the necessary talismans in order to find the entrance to the Highest One’s throne room, along with a powerful talisman she’s created from Remi’s notes that will transport them into Giva should they need a quick escape.

The second group she tasks with bringing the people of Sedorum safely into Taeum. It’s a high-risk situation, however: she meant to hold off on bridging the two realms together until the Highest One was declared dead, but as she can utilize Remi’s notes to bring the army to Giva, she can also use the orb’s power (which she previously used to move from one plane to another) to merge the two realms. She tells this group to protect the citizens and find those in Taeum who will side with them. For this, she calls in Clara and The Doctor (11) and tells them to find others who would protect the locals to join with them.

Finally, the third group is the military force that she herself will lead into Giva. As she can’t arouse suspicion in V’rizz and Him she must be the one to go, and she takes only those most skilled in combat along with her. She gives them the following orders: to practice the shielding talismans so they will fight but not to kill; and to find and kill specific Taeum officers and high officials loyal to the Highest One, those that cannot be swayed (she provides a list of names). Entr'i's ultimate strategy (shared only with those of her inner circle who would not betray her to V'rizz) is to stall the battle for as long as they can in order for the first group to recover the amulet from the Highest One and/or assassinate him.

In Taeum, Angrial will lead their armed forces into Giva; she tells them to 'Leave Entr’i to the Highest One and I.' On the Taeum side, Orbers will be able to assist the Taeum infiltration team from Sedorum, either by joining in on the jailbreak, taking part in the second task force's mission to steal the amulet, or by helping the locals when the barrier between the realms has been broken and the Sedora are led to Taeum.

Meanwhile, H’yawal has enlisted Dr McCoy to protect the innocents in Taeum — something that will be necessary, as something unexpected and dangerous will happen once the realms merge ...

Finally, in Giva, the battle between the two realms begins, and Orbers are needed on both sides to mitigate the damage. In the living world, dead souls have wings, something that symbolizes their right to reincarnate. As such, those entering Giva will notice this new development.

· THE OOC SIGNUPS

As there is a lot to do, here is a quick run-down of things your character can or can’t do:

• A character can only participate in either the jailbreak or the amulet stealing team but not both.

• A character can either go to Giva to fight or stay to help the locals but not both.

• Those involved in the jailbreak or the amulet stealing can go on to Giva or stay in Taeum and help.

We ask everyone to inform us which group their character will be a part of. This will ICly affect the conclusion. The vote will be HERE, and it will open at the same time that the log goes live.

Furthermore, there will be specific sign-ups for this log:

• First, we ask those who want to participate in the second task force to sneak in to the Highest One’s throne room to sign up HERE. The sneak-in will be done as a search request-type thread, and will be limited to six (6) characters. In the case that we receive more sign-ups than this, we will RNG the participants.

• Second, we ask that those involved in the jailbreak reiterate and confirm your involvement via checking in HERE. We will RNG one (1) NPC-thread among these participants.

• Third, there will be two (2) NPC thread slots regarding the orbs: one with Entr’i, and one with Angrial. We would like to ask everyone to submit their suggestions for how they would convince the two to give up the amulets HERE. We will RNG from the threads of those who voted. The vote will go as usual: submit an idea or +1 to an already existing idea. Both of these options will place you in the RNG. If you’d like to vote but not be counted in the RNG, please clarify this within your voting comment.

I realized that this will probably impact his choice to go to Giva vs staying in Taeum — is Angrial deliberately leaving some of the military behind to safeguard Taeum or does she want everyone involved with the military to go to Giva? What would her opinion be of anyone in the military choosing to stay in Taeum of their own free will? :|a

Hi mods! I know Yennefer's Chaos levels are increased back up to canon levels whenever she's out and about on missions (a fact she isn't aware of yet but I was planning to have her learn firsthand over this particular section of the event.) For the purposes of transporting the people from Sedorum into Taeum, would it be possible for her to create a portal between the two with the aim of shuttling innocents from one side to the other more quickly? I imagine she wouldn't be able to sustain it for long periods of time (and if there's a limit to how long a portal would be able to remain open as well, totally understandable!), but just wanted to see what was feasible in terms of her ability to use her magic to help.

hi mods! would xichen's calming music have an affect on the local population while in sedorum? could he play clarity to keep folks calm while helping them move from sedorum to teaum? in taeum, would it have the same effect and could he alleviate any potential fighting amongst those who remain and need protection this way?

Hello, since Majima was in Giva for the entirety of the first part of the mission (hiatus mechanic) does it mean he's going to have communication restored only with the characters that go to Giva directly, is it team-wide, or is he cut-off from the network for the duration of the mission?

Itachi would definitely advocate for speaking to Angrial directly and honestly. Tell her about the orbs, that they are trying to undo their regrets, et al. He believes she is a good but misguided person and that she can be reasoned with if someone approaches her compassionately and without pretense. He is willing to explain his own reasons for wanting the orbs and would encourage whoever speaks with Angrial to do the same.

If others advocate for harming or killing her, or trying to trick her he would probably be directly opposed to that and will say as much, and may be willing to protect her in a fight depending on how it goes. Conflict awh yiss.

General plans: Rosi's currently in Taeum jail so will be participating in the whole jailbreak situation. Help him get out, help him help others get out, come talk to him and he'll make sure you have a copy of his hand-drawn Taeum map for the infiltrators for the few minutes it might be useful before the realms are merged and crazy shit happens.

I still need to complete his personal goal and this is a great opportunity for it. Rosinante is very much against anyone trying to kill Angrial - he really doesn't think that's the way to solve this. He needs to settle an argument with violence, and if anyone tries to stampede on past to off her he will absolutely try to stop them from doing so. This could also happen on Giva, as I'm intending to send him there afterward (unless anything changes by April 4) - he'll be split from Law, not by choice, so he'll be extra stressed out and extra prone to punching someone in the nose to make his point.

Info sharing: As noted above, Rosinante has a handmade map of Taeum that shows which doors connect to which. It isn't 100% complete, but if any characters want to know generally how most things are laid out, he'll gladly let people make copies. More orb-hunting, less blind wandering! The place is one heck of a maze if you're not familiar with it.

General plans: o k a y! so i'm a bit late but life has been kicking my butt for the first chunk of april; i'm here now though and i have a proposition for any interested ximilia crew who might be hanging around sedorum while the realms are breaking apart/during the big battle.

newt's precursors have been developing a rather strong bias against the doctor for a little while now, mostly in a 'we gotta kill this guy off' kind of way. ANYWAY in this mission, anti-newt will have hired a bunch of sedora hit-men to go after the doc. while he won't have any idea who these souls are and why they're after him (and who sent them), he'll certainly catch wind to their presence.

i'd really love to thread out a few (i'm looking at 2-3?) short and sweet scenes in which the doctor is just doing his doctor thing, helping children and elderly and wrangling people to safety with a fellow crew-members, when a merc shows up and tries to kill him off. your character, if you'd like, can either rescue the doctor at the moment of some merc trying to off him; they can warn him; they can help him try and go after one of said mercs, hoping to find out who sent them. (however, the moment they do catch up to them, they've been equipped with self-destruction protocol that kills them before they can talk.) they don't have to be close cr or even familiar cr — it could be a neat way to meet the doctor if you haven't yet! i'm open to all.

+ i've spoken with ashlee about all this so it's all kosher.
