BAD COMPANY: plotting post 2 + voting for the conclusion
● ● ● FEBRUARY PLOTTING POST: MISSION LOG 2
The time has come to reveal some things about the second log. It will ICly follow the NPC thread with Welford Branson, the events in the second log taking place immediately after the end of the thread. We highly recommend that everyone give the thread a read.
Before you get into planning, here is a quick recap of what has been found out so far:
• The inhabitants of the town don't seem to have any thoughts or feelings.
• Something keeps the team from finding out more about the deaths in the town. The bodies of people who die also seem to vanish into nothing, as if they've never been there at all.
• None of the food served in the town contains any nutrients, but the water in there is real. This has led many of the Orbers to suspect nothing in the town is real at all, both the food and the people.
• Something that is real is the embera, the snakes found in the mines. Contrary to what the townspeople say, they are actually not venomous at all. Furthermore, there is evidence in the mines of these non-native snakes heading towards the town, even though they are not seen there. The snakes are also known to feed on ash.
• The mines around the region supply ore that can be made into pulsefire, a dangerous fire that only burns living things in its path.
• Traces of the orb can be felt around a family called the Bransons. The family consists of Welford and Amabella Branson, their sons Welford Junior and Chesper, Junior's wife Poppy and son Jeb, and Ches' wife Chastity and their baby Lory.
• A bandit group called the Bouldersnakes is feared in the town and are known for being ruthless. One of the miners in the town made a deal with them to sell them some ore in the past.
• Following Lan Xichen's talk with Welford Branson, Welford runs away from the town, distraught by what Lan Xichen has made him remember, and a voice speaks to all the Orbers.

· THE LOG + THE VOTE
The second log will include aspects of survival in the town and outside of it as well as another bandit encounter. Along with plotting for what to do in the log, this post will be used to suggest ideas for how the team can get the orb.
About the second log in more detail: it will be divided into a survival section as the Orbers will have to live in the town that, following the NPC thread, will look very different from what they are used to; and furthermore, as the orb is no longer in the town, leaving it will be possible — but conversely, it will also be possible for outsiders to come in, both animals (remember the sand whales?) and people.
Speaking of people, the other part of the log will be another bandit encounter... this time with, well, maybe you can guess who. The Bouldersnakes will finally make an appearance, so be prepared the same fate that befell the town doesn't happen to you!
As for the vote: we will open the vote at the same time as the log goes live, on February 2. After reading the log, please respond HERE with an idea for how the team wants to proceed with getting the orb from Welford Branson. The conclusion will be written based on what the team decides to do.
We ask that you do this by Monday, February 7, 6PM GMT.
As with missions one and two, the conclusion of the mission and the return to the station will come later on February 13. As before, that will not be a separate log, so for the latter half of the month when characters are on the station, players are encouraged to make their own logs.

Contact: PM or
Character: The Darkling, aka Aleksander Morozova, (aka Gleb, aka Dick Midnight)
General plans: Truthfully, he will not care about the bandits. They can fuck off and do their thing, loot the town- burn it down. He doesn't really care, but he does care about the theoretical possibility of them killing a select few of the other orbers. The only time he would even interfere with them, or engage with them, was if the chance of a pulsefire setting everything on fire. In which case, he has Shadow Powers - he can shape them in to solid matter, can sharpen them in to a wide blade that cuts through anything. Especially flesh and he has absolutely no qualms about killing every last one of them. Fighting might in his future, if the pulsefire happens. [Side note, due to his own evil and shenanigans in canon, he can also control Alina's powers of summoning the sun if they touch.]
He will most likely just stay on the outskirts of the group, looking in, seeing who might find some useful leads on the orb and its location and just not deal with any of the other nonsense. He will be ready to kill who ever holds the orb to get it.
Snakes, he will keep looking for them to feed those who need it, but not be overly concerned if any orbers refuse to eat (with few and very limited exceptions - you know who you are).
Being probably the only one of the group to actually like it here, he has no solid plans for now.

Darkling will be terrified of the car, just saying. What the hell is that supposed to be anyway? Are we inside of you!?!?! What?!?!?

Darkling, clutching the little handle by the door as if his life depended on it until he realizes that that's also Drift. 'What am I touching right now?!'

I'm so tempted for Drift to just tell him not to think about it

...OMG! I would never tell you no, just know that. In my heart, I am saying yes to the crazy plans even if the darkling is making frowny faces

Darkling being all hearts-eyed about Megatron's war crimes is hilarious

But they have worked together before, so. Ed would initially at least be cool about it in helping out if Darkling needs it.
