THE SLEEPER: IC VOTING POST
● ● ● THE SLEEPER: IC VOTING POST
Hello orbers!
The time has come to vote for how the team is going to get the orb in Kilnan. Note that this is an IC vote — so whatever you vote for has to be what your character would ICly want to do.
Before we get into the vote, here’s a quick recap of what has been found out so far:
• The wizard Remi seems to have fallen victim to the sleeping sickness, as well.
• The orb is hungry and wants to feed on magic / powers.
• The castle is sentient and Remi can be found in a tower.
• According to Aureliah, the princess and Remi's niece, he feeds the orb monthly as part of his bargain. Aureliah is siding with the Orbers and willing to help them find and wake up her uncle — which they need to do in order to stop the orb from spreading the sickness.
• Remi is willing to work with the Orbers to find another solution to his bargain with the orb, and will relinquish it to them as soon as they can figure something out that won't hurt Aureliah.

The team needs to vote on the three things, and each character gets one vote to either suggest a solution or +1 one suggestion of their choice.
For the vote, this is what your character has to choose:
1 How to get into the tower
2 How to wake Remi
3 How to get the orb
Please write your suggestions as comments under the right heading, or +1 other characters' suggestions by responding to their comment. If your character could add something to their suggestion (offer magic, stealth for the tower, protection for someone, whatever!) please add that in your comment as well.
The vote is open until November 28, 6PM GMT, after which the mods will count the votes and write the conclusion based on your characters' actions. You only have one vote per question, but if you end up wanting to vote for something else or edit your vote, you can do so until the voting closes.
Note that the vote doesn’t mean that only one option will be chosen — depending on how it goes, the conclusion may feature elements of a couple of the highest-voted options. The mods may also ask follow-up questions for some courses of action.
And finally, the conclusion will go up on December 1, and characters will return to the station then.
Happy voting!

Finn's also chatting with the castle, of course. He's convinced it to open the window again, so it's possible someone can slip in and cause a distraction or steal the orb while Team Sphinx is doing the distracting. Itachi was the one that asked to go back through the window.
Finn's going in with Team Sphinx regardless.

local ninja does ninja things
itachi does not trust aureliah at all (given what he and kovacs discussed he is extremely paranoid that she's been corrupted or something by the orb's power transfer, or that she's a clone/replacement/soMETHING) and thinks it's a Terrible Idea to give her an opportunity to have the First Strike at Remi or access to the orb.
according to the castle, he could potentially get in through the window with a ninja crow clone (long story) and could in theory administer the antidote (from Bones?) by doing so to wake Remi up directly, since he seems the most likely to know what's going on. HOWEVER:
i as a player Do Not Like The Spotlight and would be a bit gunshy about jumping on what should be a more broadly collaborative plot than just One Character Does A Thing so i'm fine with this being ICly/OOCly voted down, it's just something he would Put Forth as an option. the dastardly trap of playing proactive people curses me again.
and he will definitely be talking about the possibility broadly even though it's going to make him look like a flat-earther.
if the Princess Option is chosen he is probably going to insist that some heavy hitter/magic users accompany her as insurance in any case.

3) How to get the orb

Eleven has been able to reach out to the orb through her Void once, and can do so again from any location, no physical proximity to the orb required. She has been in the position of pushing power into the orb and cutting the connection before she falls asleep, and is reasonably confident she can manage to pull away without harm to herself. She could act as a conduit to bring not just herself but other sources of energy (Drift's sword/spark, other people, etc) into contact with the orb, so that no one has to give all of themselves to Phyllie on their own, but they can band together to fulfill the bargain.

...and if it needs a little incentive, there's already more than a few people on the team who've offered up their own power to help feed the orb till then.
