People place too much value in the wrong things if you ask me. [ He answers kindly, aware of Steve's less than a stellar health condition when he was younger, and how many couldn't simply see past that. It's in all history books and even if Peter hadn't read one since he was eight, Steve was a national hero. Everybody knew his story.

But how many actually know what it meant? How much of it really talked about the man himself? Yes, the serum made Steve physically unstoppable, but there are plenty of strong individuals in the galaxy. From what Peter learned from their brief, but significant encounters, there's just one Steve Rogers. Just one, stubborn and brave and fearless...willing to forgive people for their mistakes.

Peter shouldn't have expected anything less than compassion and understanding from him, he doesn't know why he thought any different. It's just that it's undeserved. True, many small mistakes lead to Thanos having the chance to obtain the Infinity Stones, but they also had an impossible opportunity to take the Gauntlet from him, and it failed because of Peter. He doesn't even remember much of what happened right after learning about Gamora's death and losing to Thanos, it's all a bit of a blur.

Gods, he is so, so very tired. ]

Thanks. [ He says instead of But you should, because Steve has enough troubles already, he doesn't need Peter's. ] Has anybody taken a look at your injuries? I know you heal faster, but...it couldn't help to check.
