He remembers the sound of Sarah weeping over hearing his voice, and doesn't think he'll ever forget the sound.
Similiarly, Sam thinks Stark must have passed with the faces of his loved ones seared in his mind. How could they not be the first things he'd want to know about, and be terrified to ask for all the same?
So Sam encloses Tony's good hand in his briefly, firm but gentle. ]
Careful now, Stark. [ Sam remembers the little float set out on the lake. Proof that Tony Stark has a heart. ] Wouldn't wanna ruin all your street cred.
[ But Sam's tone is gentle as much as it's teasing. Acknowledging the emotional weight, but lifting it a little, too. ]

[ He doesn't let go of Tony's good hand for a moment though, makes sure the connection lingers. And even when Sam gets up, he has a hand on Tony's good shoulder as if he needs it to pull himself out of the crouch - he doesn't, of course. But it's a convenient pretense to keep a light connection up - Tony will probably see through it, but hopefully without feeling coddled too much. ]
