The rulers of the city we went to lied to its people, pretending a plague had wiped had wiped a lot of them out. Only to find out they had placed a curse on those they saw as less worthy. The cursed turned them into creatures and some of us got bit, if it wasn't for some super smart people on this ship working with a group of people from the city, I'm not sure we would've survived.
