It... roughly translates to "air" or "breath," but the meaning is somewhat more than that. Qi refers to a vital force, or energy, that flows through all living beings.

[ He sighs. That's more of a textbook definition than anything, but traditional Chinese medicine isn't exactly his field of study, to allow him to give any deeper meaning. ]

My friend could probably explain it better, if he were here. This spiritual stuff is way more his thing than mine.
