Upon being transported to the world, any armour or weapons that have specific tech would be transformed into more setting-fitting armour or weapons. Other tech, like a med scanner or the earpieces, will still work as normal, but of course using any tech in sight of the locals is inadvisable as the team is meant to blend in.
