I'm good with Joric getting injured and since they don't know each other, maybe he can take an injury for her and she doesn't have to feel bad about it? He wants the orb quickly too but he's a himbo that's much better at battlefield tactics than how to get an orb out of a volcano so he'll probably just follow along unless her plan is to swan dive in or something. He'll just grab her by an ankle and lift her out of harm's way. No big deal.
