[ it is not the first time in his life that nicky has found himself working with limited food supplies, with the kind of supplies that last a long time. there is nothing fresh here, but between canned tomatoes, some of the root vegetables he has decided are suitable for consumption despite the musty smell, the dried meats and the herbs, he thinks he'll be able to muster up a decent stew of sorts.
he knows how to make the best of it and this place and its futuristic, well, everything is far more luxurious even now than many of the places of nicky's past. still, there's an almost mournful note in his tone: ] This would be better if I had fresh garlic and wine.
WELCOME WAGON: SUNSHINE
[ this room, nicky decides, is his favourite. he walks the path, head tipped back a little toward the sunshine. it is an illusion, he realises that, but it is one that he appreciates. ]
It seems very real, doesn't it?
SIMULATION
[ nicky is not reckless, but fuctional immortality means that some risks are easier to take for him than they are for someone else. perhaps that is why there's nothing but absolute certainty in his tone, in his demeanour when, after hearing the muffled cries for helps, he says ] We have to help.
[ even if the mine collapses-- it is only a simulation, and he will survive (or come back to life). and perhaps the person crying for help is only simulated, too, but he is not willing to risk that.
functional immortality makes it easier to take that risk, but the truth is that his ethics are hard-won regardless. ]
WILDCARD
[ ooc; find him in the training rooms, exploring, hit him up on the network (are there misfires), idk, anything goes! ]
