"...last year." It's nowhere near the explanation that she probably wants to hear, but it's the most he's got right now. Standing face to face with someone who should be dead makes it a little hard to think. To come up the words he needs to explain himself.

He's staring. He knows he is. So it takes active thought for him to blink. To look away again as he tries to order his thoughts. Natasha deserves an explanation. Deserves answers to every one of her questions. After the sacrifice she made for humanity, for the universe itself, it's the least he can do.

So he takes a breath. Takes a moment to make sure they're alone, before he motions back into the armory. It may not give them the same level of privacy as he'd like, but it'll have to do. At least it's only Viveca, and she already seems to be well aware of each of their lives back home.

"You and the others got the stones. Brought everyone back so we could stop Thanos." Well, his past self. But the less he has to think about time travel, the better. It'll only ever take his thoughts down a path he'd prefer to avoid following again.

"There were losses." Though he doesn't see a reason to give names. Not when his reaction to her presence here is likely telling enough. There were a lot of losses, but two of them had hit a lot harder than most.
