B1 Battle Droids were a line manufactured by a company called Baktoid Combat Automata, and mostly on factories on Geonosis. They designed our bodies based on the Geonosians so we could use the equipment they already made. We were mass produced using cheap materials and processes, so we were constantly being humiliated, destroyed, and put back together. Our main purpose was to protect companies' assets from pirates. That was, until the Trade Federation used an army of us for to invade the planet Naboo. I was part of that invasion force.
Then systems started coming together to form the Confederacy of Independant Systems and break away from the Republic that controlled the galaxy, because they thought the Republic Senate was corrupt. They used us, the B1s, as the main foot soldiers of their army. Then the Jedi attacked Coruscant, which started the Clone Wars. I fought in that too. But the Clone Wars turned out to be caused by the leaders of both the C.I.S. and the Republic so they could turn the Republic into a REAL dictatorship called the Galactic Empire. And then they did.
So really, we were made to be the face of evil rebellion, and then we were all shut down and melted for slag when it was over. Except for me, the last one. [His recounting of the fact that he is the last of his kind does little to diminish his eagerness to tell his story.]
