[ Jim lets out a faint hum, nodding while he continues to chop the vegetables. Indeed, some among them will be desperate enough, and blind enough by that despair, to not think their actions through; or even not have the same moral qualms of doing something truly horrible in order to get what they want. Not that Jim even believes that any of them would get what they want. If these missions have proved anything to him, it's that anything they can get will be a double-edged sword, and the last mission especially has shown them all that the Orbs can be incredibly duplicitous and dishonest to suit their own wants.

He doesn't get to say any of that, though, before Spock adds that last bit. ]

Spock! [ It's surprise more than anything else, and he shakes his head. ] We're not going to initiate that kind of confrontation. If and when it comes to that, we'll figure out what to do about it. Besides, it's not going to be nearly as easy as you think to subdue most of the people here.
